Folks,
I've never bothered to re-wrap baffles but did so this week.Wow, takes out many of the 'tinny' noises and sounds richer to me.
Bought 6mm wool wadding from Yambits (two stroke wadding) and lockwire and took 10min to do them. One 50cm x 50cm sheet will last you half a lifetime, too.
Ebay item numbers on the pics.
Cheers,
Mike

I always thought you was meant to take that off after so many miles, does it affect performance or anything ??

I thought it was compulsory to take it off after the M.O.T.

Re: Baffle wadding & lockwire
You could both be right but it'd be a bit odd, no? I guess Suzuki /Yamaha / Kawasaki fitted this stuff to two stroke exhausts to (i) catch carbon bits (pure guess) and to muffle sharp exhaust noise a tad (a fact...mine sounds more mellow now).
Interested to know why it should come out, and a source to that. Yambits might know of course, they sell the stuff by the yard!
Or....surely not....an anti-fire idea? might hot bits of coke (rarely) come out of a hot 2 stroke on full chat? and the wadding catches this remote chance?

Re: Baffle wadding & lockwire
I found one order of wadding is plenty for 3 sets of 4 baffles! bargain. One order of lockwire will do 2-3 sets of 4 baffles depending on how much you use to get the thing tightly held.
Re: Baffle wadding & lockwire
Good tip Mike
Got the wadding and lock wire last week, done the baffles today.
Not everything is expensive.
Thanks
