Black gt550 needs restoration

Post by nairb123 »

Looks like fat frog has been very busy. Several good looking gt750's but this black gt550 is different. Unusual l/h exhaust arrangement. Always liked black bikes.

The gt750K is a good looking bike - a bit expensive.

Some of the frogs gt750's are also well pricey. But when did you last see a gt550/750 at a realistic price. This particular 550 will cost a few quid to fix. Somebody will snap it up.

The exhausts are wrong on the nearside, look like off a CB750

Just for you:

Good looking machine. Must turn a few heads. Its great when another old bike from the past is rescued. Hopefully the fat frog gt550 will end up looking as good

I bought one off him for £609 4 years or so ago.
Took 3 years to do and now runs lovely - the green 550K.
I would say that it was a bit worse - cosmetically - than the black one above, but the engine was sound.
We can't price all the time it takes to do them up though realistically, can we?
I also bought a J and an A for less than £600 for the pair. (and some other stuff too) - I do love a bargain!

The advert is funny: "rare to find one in *this condition" :-)

You're right. I was a bit brutal. Lots to do, though!
