It feels like ages since I last posted but I’m now getting back into my bikes after relocating back to the UK from the States.
Riding my ‘74 L recently I’ve noticed that the disc brake is binding and make a noise when I turn the handlebars. It’s fine in a straight line and the front wheel rotates freely when up on the centre stand. It only starts to bind when I turn off centre, especially when manoeuvring by pushing on the drive. It has also started to squeal a bit when braking while riding.
Is it an obvious calliper rebuild or could there be something more sinister going on e.g. bearings. The main wheel bearings Are quiet and don’t appear to have any play. Not so sure about the head bearings though.
As usual, all thoughts and ideas are welcome.
Thanks, Rob

Re: Binding Front Brakes
Just done both the Kettle and 550 they too binding and squealing when moved a caliper re-build has done the trick for me A possible cause could be master seal failure toorobdallow wrote:

Re: Binding Front Brakes
Thanks for the advice. Much appreciated. I’ll see how I get on with a rebuild. Rob
