Just a quick question for the kettle rebuild boffins,what is the best sealer for the carburettor bowls and engine casings? Merci et Joyeux Noel Monsieur Bonehead

Sealer on float bowls !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Use Suzuki 3 bond on the casings used on most jab bikes.

I take that as a no for sealer on the float bowls,what if they leak do i just get new ones ?

Hi canaletto5 they have gaskets but I always over engineer stuff ,why use a 10 mm bolt when two 20 mm ones will fit ? I'm the bloke who everyone has as a mate who just gives it that final nip up and snaps it!!!!!!wondered if a little wipe of something might help

This is the bike for you its already over engineered that why they are still around.

Baz you've caught me out and I have to confess sorry,it's for the Yamaha not the kettle :o not a sign of oil on the Suzuki.

They're rubbish them Jap bikes lad they won't last five minutes! you want to get yourself a nice Royal Enfield!

You're right,sort of ,the man who sold me the yamaha said that there was no oil leaks but a brand new set of unused gaskets in the bits box,it can't leak what it hasn't got!!!! :roll:

Same rules apply gaskets should be fine.
