Joint sealer

Post by klektermaniac »

Hello aAl,
What is the best sealer to use for 750J crankcase halves?
I use normally use Hylomar Blue, but it does not spread that well and can seem a bit 'lumpy', but for all that I have never had any problems.
Just checking as I really do not wish to do the job twice!

Happy New Year to all on the Clinic.

There is no doubt that Hylomar is the superior product and I am biased because that's what we used when I worked at Rolls Royce to seal up aero engines. It's best stiplled on with a stiff short bristle brush.

That said, I usually just use 3 bond because in the US it's easier to get and that's what all Japanese factories seemed to use. And it's what most engine builders seem to use.
