Register clutch GT 750
Hello everyone, I have a problem interpreting the Clymer manual to record the clutch of the 750. talks about: loosen double nuts until there is 0.008 inch end play in release shaft. But this tolerance so infinitesimal where should I measure it? Thanks in advance. Good evening.

tighten the 1st nut up until it nips the back off half a turn, and then lock lock it with the 2nd nut

^ What he said.
.008" is roughly .2mm. The thread on that shaft is 1.25mm so one flat is roughly 0.16mm which is close enough to the aforementioned 8 thou.
What you are looking for is just a tiny amount of slack/free play. And it's easy to check. When you rotate that shaft by hand without a cable on it, it should rotate roughly one flat before it gets hard to move as it starts to lift the clutch.
