Silly question this!.. and I probably know the answer but............
gonna check my timing with a dial gauge at the w/end.
Now as I understand it, and using the kickstarter to confirm, the kettle engine when viewed from the left hand side rotates anti clockwise. In my copy of the gt750 performance portfolio on page 127, there is a feature written by Brian Lecombe who says that "when looking at the left hand side of the engine you turn the crank ANTICLOCKWISEin order to go from TDC to before TDC"
that can't be right can it?
Surely, in order to go to before tdc I need to turn the crank CLOCKWISE using the left hand nut with the points cover off?
Silly question maybe as I said!
I'm trying to alleviate some of the surging and no-idle running, by having my timing spot on. I,ll check the carbs then if the prblem persists.( carbs are exchange set from BAZ from @ two years ago, but I still have the dreaded surge.. they never really cured it.)
It's almost making me prefer to ride my Z650 as that bike is a pleasure to ride.
thanks everyone!
