Beware Of Cruzin Image Brake lines

Post by itsnotateapot »

Just a word of caution, recently my brakes haven't been much goods I decided to upgrade them, first off I got some Suzuki SV650 twin pot callipers and with a little alteration to them they went on the bike, off I went on a test run and they wasn't any better. so next I bought a Suzuki Bandit master cylinder and once again on a test run and again no better. so back in the garage and as was pulling the brake lever on and off I noticed the brake hoses were expanding quite a lot. On inspection it looks like the cruzin image brake hose have completely broke down, they are only 4 years old and done about 12 thousand miles. Next step was to have some braided brake lines made up, on they went and off for test run and the brakes are now Fantastic. So my Kettle now has sv650 callipers. Bandit master cylinder and braided hoses and the difference is great. the moral of the story is keep a eye on your cruzin image hoses.

Richard.. did you have to do much alteration to the callipers to make them fit?.. this sounds like a very worthwhile mod. was also looking at a kettle at Leverton a few weeks ago with gs1000 callipers fitted, though didn't get chance to speak to the owner about how they performed.

Hi Andy
It was just the mounting plate the two holes wasn't wide enough so had some steel welded on to the mounting plate had the holes welded up re-drilled and tapped the holes and bobs your uncle. ;)

Hi Richard, glad you got it fixed.
Nothing worse than a bike that wont stop :D :D :tw :tw
Do you think that the lines were in danger of splitting at all, I'd say that there are a lot of these in use out there.
Could be a reaction to the fluid softening the rubber used in the lines ???
what the fuck was that ????
