Thanks Alan ;) I'll ring Castrol again today& have another chat about this,
The exhaust note also sounds more expansion chamber like ! Maybe just my imagination :|
Must get back to sleep :idea: it's 5:30 am here.

i stopped using castrol tt about 18 months ago when it was pulled off the shelves after they found a contaminate in it and that was about the time my bike started coughing and spluttering never went back to using castrol after that and bike is running ok.

:!: I wonder if it was just the UK with the contaminate problem ?
I've had very oily exhausts over the last two years,I've put that down to slow running & not much distance covered before switching off :cry: :roll:

it wa done on batch numbers, all i know is halfords and my local suzuki shop cleared their shelves of it that's why i changed and not gone back since.

Castrol is voluntarily recalling one litre bottles of Castrol oil used in two stroke engines due to water contamination. The contamination in some bottles may potentially be sufficient to cause engine seizure. The affected products and the batch numbers are listed below and were on sale from 3 September 2012. The products are mainly used in motorcycles or small scooters, but can also be used in other equipment with two stroke engines.

Exactly.

We all have our preferences and they range from dino oil like they used to have to modern synthetics. Almost any oil made today is better than what was available in the seventies.
