Hi, has anybody else had the 2 stroke tank cap leak I came back to my Kettle after parking her on the side stand to find a small puddle of 2 stroke oil on the ground
Traced the leak back to the cap on the tank, blue oil escaping past the cap running down the plastic inner mudgard ,onto chain guard ,
then to the ground
The top of the thread bit of the oil tank has been damaged by overtighting of the cap, this in turn has damaged the rubber oil seal causing the leak
The cap, rubber seal & plastic insert are listed as one part OEM 44600 - 30832,
In the mean time I've fitted a red vibrious washer to seal it up

Re: Leaking Oil Cap !
On my 550 I tightened the cap to stop a small weep, and the cap broke pushing the top off it. I realised that the top of the cap had a crack in it from overtightening. Had to buy the whole cap, washer and plastic bung to replace it. I am always careful not to overtighten now.
