Re: Uh oh !
I just asked for an update, and was told "I'm waiting for the new piston".
New piston ? No one said anything (until now) about needing a new piston ! Had that been the case, I would have probably gone for all 3, as I bought new std sized rings for all3, but the pistons were all within tolerance, as were the bores.
This is turning into a saga !

Re: Uh oh !
I would do all three if I was in your position Terry. Still time to do that though. Wonder what's wrong with the one piston.
Currently without a GT, but looking

Hi, I had a cracked piston, plus various crank problems 11 years ago
It wasn't "cheap"

Re: Uh oh !
Pist'n broke maybe?
Hippo had a cracked (right) piston soon after I got it. That 'caused' a full rebuild!!!

Re: Uh oh !
Had the bike delivered back this afternoon, so this evening, having been over to Jem's speedshop, I decided to have a 10 minute run around the block, to see how it felt.
All felt good for the first 2 miles then a brief "exhaust blow" followed by the centre downpipe separating from the head, and as soon as I stopped, dropping off the 2 joints with the lower silencers.
Confidence factor back to zero !
