Rear Shocks

Chaps, i have some original rear shocks that i have dismantled and ideally will get rechromed at some point.
As anyone managed to get the rear damper unit re chromed, my only thought is that it is obviously a sealed unit containing fluid, and would most chromers not do it.
Also, the best outlet for the rubber dampers, i think they're 20mm wide and 15mm centres.???

Hi, I tried to remove the shock absorber spring but I couldn't. Surely there is a technique to do it, can you help me? Thank you
