It's worth noting that with the new looms from Suzuki the voltage drop to the coils is 2 volts rather than 1 volt so you lose around 20% of the HT voltage, A kettle does no provide any extra charge voltage at idle son idle and low speed pick up can be affected. Me and many others have fitted a relay to the coils straight from the batter to ensure a great spark at low revs.

I was reading this interesting article and was thinking about upgrading the coils to something with a bigger output, when I put higher output Banshee coils on my YPVS Yamaha LC it did make it run significantly better. Was thinking about maybe coil packs from a modern bike so long as the current required is not too high and they don't need a CamBus signal

Hi Baz I would also like to put a relay on the coils, you can give explanations on how to proceed, maybe even with photos. Thank you

Hi, unfortunately I don't have a lot of electrical knowledge, you have a relay number if you can specify the various contacts where to insert. Sorry if I ask too much but it is an interesting trick to improve. thank you

Any sort of automotive relay will work just connect the cables the same as the diagram. I have found another photograph on the forum to help you.
