Mirrors

Post by bobhenry999 »

Guys,

The mirrors on my bike are a bit wobbly and I was wondering if they are the correct ones for the GT750. They do have the Suzuki " S" emblem on them, and the thread at the bottom is 8mm which screws into a boss with a rubber trim around it that is itself fitted into the base

I have included a couple of photos, so if anyone can help I would appreciate it.

Thanks again,

Bob

They wobble because:
The rubbers are knackered.
They are 40 odd years old.
The Hippo vibrates like a barsteward at tickover.

(Well, mine does!)

Or you can just get some of the rubber anti vibro thingies and chuck the old 'uns away.

Having had another look at them it looks as though the anti vibration rubbers are indeed knackered, so the next question is where on earth can I get new ones from ?

The genuine mirrors have a very thin rubber surround with a split in it pattern ones have continuous rubber usually..

Guys,

Thanks for you help and suggestions. I have just ordered 2 anti-vibration bosses from the site that 2strokejohnny suggested, and they look just like the one on my bike.

Thanks to all once again for the help. I have a number of old bikes/cars and this is the best forum that I have ever experienced, so well done and thanks to all of you.

I turned up a brass insert to replace the rubber and the mirrors where clearer than before.
