750 GT crown nut

Post by Peter1959 »

Bike has been boxed for three years and I’ve started rebuild.
The crown nut on top of the steering head doesn’t match the threads.
I’ll post a picture as I’m most likely using the wrong nut.

Measure the threads just in case it is wrong. It could just have a damaged thread.

Best idea is to get a new shiny Stainless Steel replacement. I had one chrome plated and bought a new stainless part and I prefer the stainless one.

Buy a stainless replacement with a domed top, does away with the black plastic insert and looks the dogs doodahs. Mark Read on here sells them.
Look, my paintwork hasn't got "Fish scales" :x they're "Dragon scales" right!!! However, after some thought, I will accept "Black Marlin" or "Swordfish", but definitely not "Haddock" or "Cod".
