From memory on my 750J there are posts on the rear of the badge that push into star type retainers fixed to the tank. (I think  )
They're rubbish them Jap bikes lad they won't last five minutes! you want to get yourself a nice Royal Enfield!
A quote from my old dad 8-)

I started out with nothing and I’ve got most of it left!

The badges have posts on the rear which press in to tiny clasps clipped into holes set into the tank.

Get a thin plastic spatula and gently slide between the badge and tank towards one end Not the very end) of the badge and gently ease off. Do the same at the other end of the badge and then work it off the clasps.Kev
