Stater Motor

Post by TR750 »

Anybody fitted replacement brushes to their starter motor and used whats on offer. Suzuki sell the original type items for the GT750 but looking at the pictures they come with eye hole connectors and screws at their lead ends for attachment..? but the original brush wires in the starter are soldered in and look difficult to get at for a good strong soldered joint. Brooks Barn sell a complete after market repair kit with brushes already attached to the holder plate but just wondered about their quality and fitment.

Lots on here if you look up 'brushes' or 'charging', such as http://www.kettleclinic.co.uk/kcforum/v ... hes#p95199

Top left of your screen and look up search etc.

Thanks Alan some really good info there and will be useful when I start to tackle my generator and any potential charging problems although I was wanting any experience on starter motor overhaul.
