Help, what;s this leak please

Post by twostrokeheaven »

Evening all,
Have found some small drips that sit in the bottom of the casing undernrath the sprocket, its gearbox oil and is coming from the black unit with the blue wire attached to it, cant see the part on cmsl or whether it has a gasket I can replace, is it the neutral light switch and any advice on sealing the leak ? many thanks for any replies

Yes that’s the neutral switch, it’s easy enough to make a new gasket and then apply Wellseal or similar to finish the job off. A really easy fix.
They're rubbish them Jap bikes lad they won't last five minutes! you want to get yourself a nice Royal Enfield!

A slight cock up sorry
You don’t need a gasket it’s an “O” ring. Luckily they are as cheap as chips :D

And does the neutral light still come on? Moving the black bakelite cover out might be enough that the brass strip inside the cover may no longer make contact.
