Higgspeed Exhaust Install

Post by Stew76 »

Guys probably my second post only so lets go. Bought a beautiful set of polished S/S pipes from the guys at Higgspeed.
Having all sorts of trouble with the install, I must say that Paul from Higgspeed has replied to all emails with suggestion without any delay.
The first problem encountered, was with the pipe collars(if you would call them that). I had to double exhaust gasket to get the pipe springs on as the collars set to close to the cylinder head.
The second and the one that is causing a major issue is that with pipes installed the rear brake is not operational, hits on the outboard pipe before any brake action.
Not going to start with the center stand or side stand, maybe my third post.

If anyone can provide any direction thanks

Thanks Guys

Why is it that "Higgspeed" help/info isn't getting you sorted?

OE, or bad info from the pipe maker?

It may sound silly but have you got the the correct pipe in it’s corresponding cylinder.

I've just put Higgspeeds on my KH400 and have the same problem with the rear brake. The original exhausts are " shallowed out " to allow the lever to move downwards and I think some home modifications with a ball hammer will be needed, although it sounds a bit extreme.
I had to ditch the centre stand too.

No problems fitting mine at all. I have higgspeeds on my GT750A and GT750B. Only issue from my fitting is that the collars do need double gaskets and they could also do with being a bit thicker where they are bolted up - they tend to bend the flanges.

You cant fit a centre stand with these fitted.
