I've posted an update on my web site on where I've managed to get to with the testing - you can check it out at this link.

Bottom line is I have something that seems to work, but am not completely happy with it, and so I'm still looking for a seal that has a bit more contact area. The replacement seal (HU01870312) does pass a static head test with no leakage just fine (full tank of oil mounted at the same height as on the bike above the pump over night) , and I have about 8 hours of run time on my test rig. The doubt in my mind is that the originals have lasted 40 years and I can't easily duplicate in off-engine testing. 8-)

Used Ian's oil pump lever shaft seal modification on my 750A and it was very successful. No leaks even with a full oil tank.
