Also, interesting, as my GT550 came with a left carb stamped 346-22L, and the others were -21M and -21R. So mine was already modded in the factory I guess!

Hi Mike, My GT550A has all three carbs overstamped. They have originally been 346-20, but have been changed (at the factory I presume) to 346-22L, 346-21M & 346-21R. Pics below (before I polished them up !)

Crikey, that is good heritage info! my B carbs were stamped as I described just once, not overstrike. The NOS carbs I have are all 346-20s but I've fitted stock UK 550B jetting so I think I have it correct...I might at some point swap the needle jet / jet needles from the bike's original carbs over to my new bodies. But life's too short if its running OK!
