GT750A Carb Questions

Post by GTNelly »

Hello All,
Recently joined the clinic and love all the info
I've had a GT750A since 1997 and I'm in the process of recommissioning after being off the road for 4 years (been working on other 2-strokes)
When it was laid up I had problems with a mis-fire on tickover (and occasionally on the road), water pump leak and surging on overrun (always been a problem)
I've got the carbs off and just wanted to check what the correct jets are for an 'A' model?
The bike currently has #47.5 pilot jets but some manuals quote #45 for the bike, which is correct?
Also, should the centre main jet be #107.5 while the outers are #110?
I was going to fit some 0.8mm air jets to solve the surging, does this work?
Thanks
Neil

The jetting is ok, the anti surge jets will only work if the carbs are working correctly in other respects. welcome to the forum.

Hi Baz,
Thanks for the welcome
So do you think I should be using #45 or #47.5 pilot jets (or doesn't it really matter)?
Cheers!

It will make no real difference but you could always test both and see if you find any difference... does not seem to effect surging.
