The few times I've spoken to Mike I've asked him if hes ready to sell his 1400 yet, LOL. We never had the GSX1400s in Canada or the USA so I got some of these instead, the MK1 GSF1200s. I use mine for long distance touring etc so its perfect having the half faired bodywork and a slightly taller screen.
The first two of these I bought were abused examples not far from becoming parts bikes. They now have a renewed life looking great again and are being used mainly for touring etc. The third one was bought totally as parts off Ebay that I sourced over a period of a year. It is undergoing restoration when I get time to work on refinishing more of the parts.
They look mostly stock but are true 'sleeper' bikes. Lets just say suspension, brakes etc are upgraded and power is up substantially from stock.

The other restored 98 Bandit 1200s based in Florida, mostly used for riding around Tennessee, Georgia, North and South Carolina.

The third one, this photos shows the frame after media blasting and putting it into a graphite metallic silver colour.
Two strokes, its just that simple.

And the one in the first post is finally making friends with the Earwig and hippo.
We'll see how they got on in the morning - all quiet so far!

Must admit although I'm not a fan of the big GSX14 (too plasticy looking) I like that colour scheme 8-)
Needs a bit of tlc on the engine cover/ swing arm & forks Alan, and looking at those exhaust headers it's had some stick in the past

It's a ten yarder at the moment Paul, but there's a few bits that need smartening up.
That's why the price was very good - I do love a bargain!
Both engine crank end casings, wheels and some bits on the frame to sort, but it's sound and the basics seem ok.
It'll get some new brake hoses soon and a good service due to being off the road for nearly 2 years.
Shed life isn't kind!
It'll be a slow blingification to get it where it should be, but 94ft/lbs of torque makes it a very comfy engine to ride above.
A big softy - with a cosh in its pocket!
