quick- the sun is out

Post by malky »

at last its stopped bloody raining!
managed a spin around the glorious Gower yesterday with smoky Mal and ADE2119 - first trip out for the GT250K which has been off the road since 1978- didn't half feel small after the 750 and 500 though but went quite well.

Nice bike the GT250. I rode a mate's back in 1974ish and it went like a scalded cat.
I think I had been wrongly accused of doing 108 on the M18 on the Crooksified GT550J a few weeks before that.
That worked out expensive. ..............
Proof that four strokes are over complicated

Thanks Ricky- it was nice to get out and about for a change - fed up of all the crap weather we have been getting.

I loved my RD250 in 1976 but I think it would feel too small today - of course we've all grown a bit since those days - I was about 9 stone then and now about 76Kg (no conversion to protect the innocent!)

Your spot on Simon, a friend of mine has a beautiful RD250 and on one run out last year we swapped bikes for a spell. I found the RD absolutely tiny, I felt like the proverbial circus bear  and I couldn’t live with the powerband I used to love as a teenager. He on the other hand scared himself silly on my old kettle! not with the power but with the weight and handling or lack of it!
They're rubbish them Jap bikes lad they won't last five minutes! you want to get yourself a nice Royal Enfield!
A quote from my old dad 8-)

I started out with nothing and I’ve got most of it left!

I live in Bryncoch with a 750A. I have your phone number and I will phone you in a few weeks.
Perhaps we can have a coffee in JTs to discuss bike disasters and triumphs
