Two stroke oil colour

Post by zapo »

I am after some two stroke oil that is semi synthetic but is NOT red in colour.
Is there anybody out there who can point me in the right direction.
Obviously it needs to be compatible with injector system and not be any of the higher viscosity "premix only" stuff.
Give AlanH chance to give a silly reply and then anybody with a sensible answer will be welcome to comment :D

If you want to check that the oil pump is working, any oil will do. Pinch off the oil line. remove the pump and inject any "gold" oil into the lines and then put the pump back on and run it to see the red stuff pump its way down the lines.

A few watercraft oils are blue and that's easy for those of use who are colorblind to see the difference. Check at your local PWC dealer. Some snowmobile oils are also blue but probably not a lot of them over there.

Oi! I didn't do a silly reply (for once), and neither did Richard. He really is colourblind. :?

Teaser, thanks but I already know how to do the pump checks and anyway my pump is fine.
That's not the reason that I am asking,
Cheers.

Teapot, red is that colour you see when you cut yourself shaving .......I assume that you HAVE started shaving have you? young'en.

Alan, my deepest respect for you not being tempted to give silly answer.
