Side panel problems

Post by barney01 »

I have just had my paintwork sorted by our Kev and lovely it looks too however after only three months riding I see that I am wearing off the paint with the inside of my leg/boot. It also happened to my original panels is it just me or has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas on a solution ? I have seen Halfords advertising ceramic coating to protect paintwork. Has anyone tried it?

Sounds like you're a bit knock knee'd Barney. You (k)need the bandy legs operation. I think it's available on the NHS now. Or some bike clips?

Seriously though, do you ride with your toes on the footrests? Try with your instep on the footrest instead and your legs may then 'miss' the side panels.

Surely the Velcro will still rub the paint off?

Shorts & trainers for me
I remember back in 1970 riding home from a fortnights camping holiday in Cornwall with a mate on my Honda CB175, him on his CD175 sloper. It was so hot we did the whole journey in surfing baggies, tee shirt and flip flops and my helmet tied onto the top of my luggage :o ah those where the days 8-)
They're rubbish them Jap bikes lad they won't last five minutes! you want to get yourself a nice Royal Enfield!
A quote from my old dad 8-)

I started out with nothing and I’ve got most of it left!
