Hi guys
new to this web site but it was recommended by Alan on the VJMC forum.
I've recently purchased a couple of bikes, one being a GT380 and the other being a GT550.
I'm having problems with the electrics on the GT380 and also with the carb balancing after replacing the old ones.
What I'm after really is a recommendation for a local mechanic to take on the work.
I'm based in Reading Berkshire so if anyone on here knows any good reliable two stroke mechanics in my area it would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. I wouldn’t trust anything that Alan fellow says. He’s from Yorkshire you know
I’m sure someone will come along who may be able to help. Why not post the problem on here as you might be able to repair it yourself with help from forum members.
Regards
Martin.

Hi Guys
Love the banter
Mainly electrical on the gt380 and I've had plenty of advice from the VJMC site but still not been able to find a solution.
Also would probably need the mechanic for new crank seals on the GT550.
Any names spring to mind that would be great.

Hi Ganddhill, if you're waiting for a sensible answer you might as well try asking the host "Jeremy Clarkson on Millionaire", he'd probably have no idea whatsoever, but at least he'd tell you so.
Seriously though, be patient and some constructive advice and help will eventually come along, how do I know this? well when I first joined this forum many moons ago, I needed some advice about my GT750 problem and I had Mr Certifiable on my case, fortunately for you he seems to have been sanctioned under the UK's mental health act, however Alan H seems to be doing a good job standing in for him
P.S. Hi Alan, how ya doin? long time no see

Look, my paintwork hasn't got "Fish scales" they're "Dragon scales" right!!! However, after some thought, I will accept "Black Marlin" or "Swordfish", but definitely not "Haddock" or "Cod".

Cheers Steve
I did wonder when there might be some one on here that might just be the right side of sane.
Already had all the banter and been educated by Alan on the VJMC forum.
I'll keep looking.

If it's the charging you're having problems with, there's been lots on the subject on here. Just do a search (click the 3 lines on top left of the screen) for alternator or charging to find it. All triples have similar excited rotor 3 phase systems, so anything on the subject is relevant. Remember that there's 2 types of alternator and regulator.
Hi Steve, all tip top here. Still sorting wiring out on the T200. Ran out of swear words so it's having a new harness due to so many shit crappy poor connections and knackered wires.....
How's 'dorayme' going on? The scales still getting higher?
