Hi i have a suzuki gs1000 1st registered early jan 1979 when will it become tax exempt and doese it becme mot exempt at the same time.i have just checked v5 its registed 01/01/1979 so iwould think it was built in 1978 how easy is it to prove or is it better to just mot and tax it for the last time

I believe it would be tax and mot exempt April 2020 if you register as historic then

Unless you can prove it was built before Jan 1979, then it'll be tax exempt now. Check numbers here - http://www.ozebook.com/compendium/suzi/ ... engnos.htm - then contact VJMC dating if necessary. Then the interesting bit, explaining to the DVLA...... :?
