Gauge Repair

Post by oldjapanesebikes »

Some years ago, someone posted some nice photos of the jig they'd made to hold their gauge while re-crimping the stainless steel ring on the later style gauge shells. I thought I'd written down the member's name but have lost it as I can't find it in my notes anywhere, and I also can't find the original post which I'm sure was on this board. I had hoped to include his information and his photos on the tips section on my web site on a future update. If the person agreed, It would be included on this page. Anyone recall who it was ?

Thx ! 8-)

I don't remember it from this forum, but I do recall reading something similar using a "block" with a hole cut into it which was a tight fit for the clock (upside down), I thought it was on one of the Nordic sites, Grenasberg? but I've not been able to find it.

I don't know why but I seem to recall that PaulD738 posted something on this, a large piece of plywood or similar with circular recesses to hold the clocks in., Maybe it was all just a dream

No, Kettle Boy keeps his techniques close to his chest, and rightly so, he has a living to make :D

That is seriously annoying me now, I know some-one on here posted something. The used a large hole cutter to make a number of holes in a sheet of ply and then put another layer of ply underneath as a base. Mike Yeadon?
