restoring plastic items

Post by wardy »

Hi guys... just wondering how to restore the appearance of black plastic items, like the airbox lowers on my gt380. It lets the rest of the bike down , and I've tried rubbing on linseed oil, silicone spray and all manner of other things to no avail.
some of these offer a "quick" temporary fix, but short of painting it black, what can I use for a more permanent lasting finish?
Does anyone else have this problem?
I wonder if some car product would be suitable as the plastic mouldings on the doors of my Focus could do with refreshing as well.

Hi, check out youtube, there are a few videos of guys using hot air guns, to good effect, to restore car bumper/plastic wing mirror covers. Be careful though, would not want to melt them
what the fuck was that ????

If you can read this, thank a Teacher.. If you are reading this in English, then thank our Soldiers..
