Glad you're on the mend Steve. Still quite mild, so no frost or salt about. You might have to just use your side stand, rather than the heave onto the main stand. I find my 550 A struggle to put on the main stand so a 750 can't be any better. Hope to see you before this years biking is done with.

Keep smiling Steve, it'll come right soon.

About the same time as the first snowdrop drift no doubt.

I found this really easy to do, I once lost my balance while getting my Z1300 out of the garage (700lbs :o )
No need for hernias

Wish I was there when she carried out that demonstration. I would have sneaked around the back and put the side stand back up.

I think that actually happened Mizzy, I thought the sidestand was down but it must have flicked up when I was turning the bike round and once it started to go I couldn't stop it. As for the bike lifting demo, don't they make it look oh so easy
Look, my paintwork hasn't got "Fish scales" :x they're "Dragon scales" right!!! However, after some thought, I will accept "Black Marlin" or "Swordfish", but definitely not "Haddock" or "Cod".

stevewharton wrote:Well after four weeks I'm back behind the wheel again, but only because we had to go to Northumberland last week and swmbo doesn't like driving  Still not back on the bikes though, but I suppose that's understandable. Really chomping at the bit now though, so the next dry sunny day should see me back on the road.
Try to avoid a hernia lads, it really isn't much fun. :(
"The next dry sunny day should see me back on the road." Yeh right! they don't call my home town GRIMsby without good reason, and that's what the weather's like here today and for the foreseeable. Grim, Cold, wet, windy and downright miserable.

I've been trying to keep myself busy renewing my car insurance, which General Accident had increased by £60 for no reason, what a minefield! Thought I'd found a good deal with the RAC at £199, only to be told that I'd given them the wrong info re' a claim I made in 2017, when I hit a pheasant. They said that seeing as the claim couldn't be made against the pheasant  it was my fault and the gits slapped another £100 onto the premium, so I told them to shove it, they then wanted to charge me £55 for cancelling, talk about trying it on! When I reminded them that the policy doesn't start until Oct 31st they said "Oh yeh". Finally settled for Liverpool Victoria at £270, cheapest of the many many quotes I got. I even tried Peter James who insure my bikes, but their quote was over £500 :o the reason being they said was that they really only specialise in insuring classic vehicles. Just renewed my bike policy with them though, for a very fair £112 (unbelievably lower than last year) for both bikes, with a policy that covers everything I need, including full UK and european breakdown cover that takes me all the way home, unlike some that'll only take you to a local garage, don't ask me how I know that. (Be wise and don't use Bewiser)

I'm never surprised Alan, especially after watching Rip off Britain this morning on the beeb. It seems that insurance companies can be blatant scammers and officially get away with it, until challenged by the likes of Angela Rippon that is. A woman got in touch with RoB saying that her insurance company were refusing to pay out on a fire damage claim, because she'd underestimated the value of her contents. RoB stepped in and the company changed their mind and paid out, more of a PR exercise methinks rather than a generous turnabout. How many people lose out though when they haven't got the know how or confidence to fight back? Always willing to take your money though eh?
