Hello all, has anyone heard of a company called "Bill buddy" or used them? I saw their ad' on the internet last week, which claimed that they could find you a much cheaper energy supplier without any fees. I researched them and found that it wasn't a scam and they were a genuine company with some glowing references. (Hmmm really)
So I contacted them and after giving them the info' required they told me that they'd found a supplier that was £280 pa cheaper than my current dual fuel supplier. I thought this was a good deal and signed up with them and shortly after I recieved an email from the new supplier, telling me that my monthly direct debit payment with them would be £104. Seeing as my current suppliers fixed monthly direct debit is only £77 I swiftly contacted them and said "thanks but no thanks" and cancelled the contract with immediate effect. So if you've seen "Bill buddy" advertising, make sure you tread carefully before signing up and be prepared to cancel if you don't like the terms or payments.

I’m sure they’re a Yorkshire company.
When I first saw the post I thought it was a Buddy to pay your Bills.

Re: Bill buddy.
I went with Utility Point after my utility company went bust just before last Christmas. Ofcom put me with 'Together Energy' and I had loads of issues with them so they got the boot sharpish.
UP put my direct debit at £88 for the first 6 months, and then I asked for a refund and got some back. My dd is now £44 and still seems high (for summer use) so I'll be keeping an eye on it over the next few months, then it might be recalculated. UP is ok with good prices and decent customer service. If anyone wants to try them, I'll send a link and we both get some money off!
I also have solar panels which are a godsend, cashwise and made up a spreadsheet that tells me what the expected annual and monthly bills should be. It's amusing to tell a company that their price projection is wrong!!

Re: Bill buddy.
I'm currently with Shell Energy who took over First Utility when they went tits up earlier this year. (bit of a minefield isn't it?)
I now pay a fixed direct debit payment of £77 a month, so reasonably happy with that, but when a middle man broker company like "billbuddy" comes along, promising a switch that'll knock £280 of your annual bill, start thinking "If it sounds to good to be true, etc etc" and approach with caution.

I'm with Isupply and have been for three years now.
I pay £30/month for lecky and £24 for gas.
don't use a lot as I'm tight ( rather put a jumper on that put the heating on!) and any overpayments are credited straight away.
ISUPPLY is their name .

Very funny Paul I'm sure you're joking though, but I wouldn't put it past some on here. Morning AlanPaulD738 wrote:My bills are zero as I’m plumbed into next door I’ve heard theirs are a bit steep though

Reminds me of a relative of mine who used a piece of plastic to slow down the spinning bit in his leccy meter. he said it saved him a fortune, but I wouldn't have slept at night in case the leccy company turned up unannounced.
