Hi Steve,

What do you mean, have to start talking funny
Mizzy,

that was Wardies post not mine, but I imagine he means saying things like thee, thou, nowt, summat, bartat and duzthanor, so he mixes in with the locals. ;)

Ahhh, sunny scunny.....
In 1992, a couple of years since I'd left t'pit, I worked as a Commissioning Engineer for Evans Universal based in Leeds, who manufactured incinerators and cremators. My first job with them was at scunny crem (Eric Smith was superintendant there back then), so if you had any family members that were cremated at the 'new' crem around that time, I may well've 'sorted them out'.
I worked all over the UK at different sites and even at Kiev in the Ukraine - where they'd never heard of Chicken Kiev, stangely enough......
I packed it in after about 3 years as it was a dead end job.

It would mean spending on petrol to get there (when we can escape the current situation), and anyway, plenty of nice places to see around here - like this - https://wentworthwoodhouse.org.uk/ where Lynn works as a guide (unfortunately it's shut at the moment due to some snottyitis or summat.
And I thought she was a woman of Leisure. A much better job than the last one she had.

Looks like poor old Bob is down to his last two.
He got 'em for Christmas

Alan, Eric Smith was indeed in charge at the crem. I remember his name often cropping up in the local paper, but by now, he must be one of his own customers as it's a few years ago.
Wonder if he got staff discount ?
Cheers for posting...
I only posted about my crap brake pads!

Typical Yorkshireman, once they get started talking a load of c##p, you can't shut them up
Look, my paintwork hasn't got "Fish scales" :x they're "Dragon scales" right!!! However, after some thought, I will accept "Black Marlin" or "Swordfish", but definitely not "Haddock" or "Cod".
