Alan is kind enough to remind me I am slacking a bit and not getting on with the fork brace I am making for him
So I thought I would have a section to keep him updated

I have pre-warned the kids that we will only be able to eat 2 days a week when it arrives and I have paid the outstanding bill

Just in the final stages of assembly, going back to the site next week to see the optional 8 post turret fitted.

Until my old CNC lathe broke, I did make a few more other larger items, like swinging arm spindles, engine bolts, sprocket bolts, but will be expanding the list soon, to include wheel spindles as well, and may have a few non bike related jobs coming up

I have to mention, plus making Alan H's fork brace.

That is superb, I served my time as a toolmaker in the late 60's early 70's and we had the first tape controlled jig borers etc (we used to punch our own tapes to program them!) other than that it was all center/capstan lathes and milling machines/shapers etc. I did work for a small company who promised to learn me how to use there then state of the art three axis Mazak cnc but it didn't work out so I left. Where do you live and can I come round and play with it (the lathe I mean) please?

Now about those other bits...........

Alan says he is only kidding, he fails to mention the 2 large blokes from Yorkshire that are permanently sat outside my house in a van, every time I leave my house, they start shouting "where's Alan's fork brace" and then they start throwing pork pies at me.

With that in mind, and needing to go to the post office and not wanting to risk another pork pie attack, I thought I'd better post a couple of photos, hopefully they may let me out to play for a while.

Still need to chamfer the top profile, if when it is finished it looks ok, I will then make a few sets, this is version 2, have only made this 1 clamp to make sure it comes out ok.

Then I will mirror polish, so Alan can see his hansom face

Shows the dust seal also sits in the top of the fork leg, so completely seals from moisture.
