Just noticed a picture in my Haynes manual (750) of the ignition timing being set with the l/h engine cover on the bench, together with the points etc in place. has anyone tried this and how effective would it be?
if it's ok. I could check my timing whilst watching Rachel riley on countdown in the comfort of my armchair indoors.
Or Suzanna reid on breakfast t.v.... where's the tissues?
cheers Andy

Re: IGNITION TIMING OFF THE BIKE
Andy, that's a great question, but unfortunately what they don't explain is that you need both hands free to set points and timing. So you idea won't work.

Re: IGNITION TIMING OFF THE BIKE
It is possible, but you have to concentrare or the timing will be all to cock (as well.)
