I’ve never known a J/K kettle to surge?
Mine certainly didn’t, mind you my Dunstall Kettle didn’t either and that was equipped with cv’s
They're rubbish them Jap bikes lad they won't last five minutes! you want to get yourself a nice Royal Enfield!
A quote from my old dad 8-)

I started out with nothing and I’ve got most of it left!

Too high tickover on one carb, slightly sticking choke on one carb, slightly blocked pilot/slow running jet(s) on one carb.
Clean the carbs properly and fit a new filter foam.
He thinks they are set up properly first time?

I know this is an old, and much visited topic, and apologies for digging it up again, but...... it seems 99% of J model bikes with the VM's fitted report that they no not seem to suffer with surge (or very, very little). I have rebuilt the carbs on my J following book, dvd's, and any scrap of information I can get hold of, yet my bike surges like a pig. I have gone through all the cable adjustments, float heights, good fuel etc, but I cant seem to dial it out. There is much written about surging with the CV carbs, but very little for the VM's.... Anyone with a J had this issue and managed to make it better?

Chris
