GT 750 Engine removal from frame ???

Post by Skyguyz »

I will be taking my 1975 GT750 down to the crank and as such I am a one man band when it comes to wrestling the engine out of the frame. *I don't like the idea of putting the frame and engine sideways/flat on the ground. Now I know this lump weighs in at 200 pounds, (90 KG) is there a life hack or a not so hard way to to do this? *I do have the bike on my elevated motorcycle work Ramp. Also, a way to reinstall the engine? I am guessing it will require two Good size guys at least to do this. *I did see a rebuild where this guy made a engine stand specifically for the GT750 and hung the frame from above but it looked way to complicated.

Thanks in advance,

SKY

The most common way is to lay the frame and motor on its side - on a blanket or even better, a spare car tyre and lift the frame off.

I usually remove alternator, engine side covers, clutch, cylinder head and barrels and then just lift it out. There are probably smarter methods.
