Higgspeeds or Rechrome
Higgspeeds or Rechrome
Just gathering opinion really - I love the look of Higgspeed expansion chambers but do n't want ot be deafened !! My existing pipes are solid but have a few dents and dings and would need to be rechromed. I know the Higgspeeds are likely to cost less but I like the muted note from my existing standard pipes . What does everyone else think ?

Re: Higgspeeds or Rechrome
I feel your pain. I was quoted about 250 per pipe to rechrome the existing. The company also said two stroke pipes were difficult to guarantee the quality of the finish due to the metal being continually soaked in oil.
I went for the higspeed but you're correct in saying they're pretty loud. They are well made & fit well for aftermarket stuff + Dave Highs is a very helpful chap. The look also divides opinion on here too but I'm really happy with mine

I like the look of the Higgspeed straight through type of pipe - its the noise I'm more worried about ! Thanks Geoff

Hi
Not sure if Higgies mean you lose the centre stand, worth a check.
I know a couple of Fabricators that will repair but you have to get your chromers to strip them first.
My whole process took nearly a year!
I came very close to getting Higgies after hearing them on a gt 380 at Stafford 2017 F#@!in loud!
Good luck.

the answer is yes you do lose the centre stand but I have seen a photo on here of a centre stand with a modification welded in it to clear the obstructing pipe colinwents75 wrote:Hi

yes al a sidecar would do the job bit extreme though just carry a house brick the type they use in the manufacturing process and rest the bike on that colinAlan H wrote:It's called a sidecar Colin!!
