anyone ever fixed broken lugs on a gt550/380 side panel ?

I repaired the broken lugs on my 750 side panel very successfully by glueing the broken off piece with liquid metal and then drilling down the center with a small (1mm) drill and pushing a 1mm piece of wire down the hole. As far as I know it’s still ok?
They're rubbish them Jap bikes lad they won't last five minutes! you want to get yourself a nice Royal Enfield!
