The down pipes are a strange shape (Walter Kaaden would not be happy), he manages to get a nice constant radius on his Kawasaki pipes. Are they really that loud? Looks like the baffles are removable, maybe some wadding might save a life of future tinnitus. Performance wise, I've been told not to expect any performance gains with Higgspeeds - but do they cause any performance losses or flat spots? 550s have a nice midrange, it would be a shame to spoil that.

Regards, Gary.

Sorry if this is an often asked one.

Are there any alloys from another model that are a straight fit? I think the chance of a pair of lesters turning up are slim.

Thanks as always, Gary.

GS550, but there's a bit of faffing with the back wheel if you want the disc as well.
Have a look here - details in the thread;

So which model GS550 has a drum braked alloy wheel? I've done lots of Googlin' but to no avail.

Best regards, Gary.

Probably easier to fit an alloy wheel with a disc than find one of these. https://goo.gl/images/Z5yD9C

and here’s what i have on mine - don’t know what they are but they sound great - header pipes were matt black before i had them chromed ( £60 each)
sadly the T500 had to go to help fund the purchase of a 750j - but no regrets

Cheers Mizzy.

I only have a soft spot for alloys because my old 380 had them. I think that Lesters were fairly rare even back then - I'm sure I will have my spoke wheels sorted in the end.

Best regards, Gary.

Ps - Has anyone used Black Cat Wheels?

Hi Monkeyman

Thanks for posting the photos - they are very sexy pipes. I'm jealous.

Best regards, Gary.
