GT550 Change of front sprocket size

Post by barney01 »

Just changed my chain and sprockets it was well overdue! I've been meaning to get around to it for quite a while :?
So ordered a DID chain and JT sprockets. I had a 15 tooth front which made the bike a little more 'spirited' under acceleration but this time i fitted a 16 tooth which is the standard together with 40 tooth rear. Quite a noticeable change in performance but very happy with the result. Next time may try a different variation.
Just wanted to point out that you can use different sprockets to change the performance of your bike :P

Your earlier sprockets are better for annoying modern bikes though Barney. When do you need over 100mph nowadays?
Fuel consumption will be a tad better though.
Proof that four strokes are over complicated

unless something has changed you don't need to even think about speeding in north wales or doing anything on a bike everyone I know stopped going :(

Oh yes I would encourage all visitors to this area to be very careful. Went to a bikers meet before Christmas and was told the local plod had a camera pointing towards the road in a horsebox in a field!
