75 GT550 Carb Float Height Test

After setting up the carb float heights on my 75 GT550, is there a simple test to check that the actual float heights are correct using petrol with a plastic tube from each carb bowl? If anyone has done this or has a link with info on how to do this with the details of the correct measurement, that would be much appreciated.

Several on here have made their own by drilling a spare carb bowl drain plug. I just bought one
