gt550 no clutch !

gt550 no clutch !
went to take the 550 out and there is nothing at the lever ! i put a borg a warner clutch in (starter works great ) but used the basket and plates that came with it , have i missed something groan ! , clutch worked well before i replaced this ! i know i should ha e checked the lever doh !

Check the clutch actuator is correctly adjusted (take the outer casing off where the cable goes into the engine). Failing that, there's summat wrong with the clutch or pushrods. You DID put 2 back in?

didn t disturb the pushrods or cable adjuster Alan , i suppose its possible with it being different clutch plates i may need to adjust it from scratch , strange how theres nothing at all there though

Ah the missing pushrod - ask Ade2119 about that Al if you bump in to us in Stafford in October

I've been in bars before - usually just before Richard who nips to the bog as we walk in there.........
new clutch plate should be thicker than old ones, so the clutch twizzly bit (technical engineering term) needs adjusting. (See my earlier post if you put both roddy bits (another TET) in).

i did leave out the clutch rubber rings , !
