Post by Syd »

Hello - Can anyone recommend a good petrol resistant gasket sealer that can by used on the bowl gaskets that doesn't set or go hard over time?

None. You shouldn't need any on the float bowls. Use slightly thicker gaskets if the joint faces are poor.

If 2 gaskets don't work and you still feel the need to use a sealant, Permatex 3 is your man ;)

Syd you can improve your gasket seal by gently rubbing the float bowl surface on a flat piece of fine emery paper or wet and dry. Make sure the emery paper is on a flat hard surface. After a bit of rubbing look at the bowl you can then see the high points. Just continue until it's flat.
