It's just a personal choice. I would not be happy that an important part had been repaired. But if you think it's okay that's fine

I like the 550s as everyone knows, and have had a couple with early starter clutches that have been ok. The biggest problem with them seems to be poor maintenance regarding gearbox oil. Keep the correct level of recommended oil in there and all should be good.
Get the parts tato and fit them carefully. Put the oil in and enjoy the bike. It'll be just fine.

OK. That's what I'll do. But it's hard to find these parts.

Had two early starter clutches fail and i can assure you Alan this kind of damage was not down to poor maintenance On both occasions it was the casting failure that caused the whole unit to become loose even though the countersunk screws where secured with loctite Since fitting the Borg Warner it spins like a good un

Hi, I was able to buy a clutch kit.



Is there a difference between 12620-34003 and 12620-34004? Can I use 12620-34004 if I had 12620-34003. Bulletin GT-26 does not say anything about it.

34004 looks like the later one.
