Ray if it was me I would carefully drill out the rivets and use small self tap screws to put it back

The Denso types normally have the cover retained by two tabs easily folded out of the way, see photo, are you sure its Denso? By the way the sensor wire is the orange or sometimes orange and white tracer wire.

As opposed to Kokusan held on by a screw, sometimes but not often a rivet

Hi All now sorted, Running 14.3 at 4.5 rpm. took the regulator cover off [denso] bent tabs looked like rivits but no.
bent the arm [alot of fiddling] hay but got there in the end Great!!!!
was looking at one rect/regulator from M&P £75. So a great fix. can get that new battery now no more kicking. LOL

Result! Big problem with modern reg/rec is you can't adjust them as you have just done... :D
