Dave,

what make is the compression tester and does it have a good schraeder valve in it or does it fail to build pressure? Some of teh cheap gauges on line are junk and read 30-40psi, and if teh valve is missing or failing to hold pressure, it won't build properly.

Ok so Panic over...

I sat down an thought it through.. basically the displacement of the cylinder needs to be great than the displacement between the plug thread and the Schroeder valve on the tester. The hose in between was too long. The tester has a short stumpy adapter with a rubber bung on the end so I used this adapter instead of the hose and compression is 120,118,120. On to the electrical side of things now....I am suspecting weak spark so plug cap, condense, Points or coil.
