K3 that's a new one on me not seen a "O" ring behind the sprocket spacer and fitted the sprocket back on today with a new tab washer from BJ's :?

I assumed there's one in the 550 becauce the 750 is fitted with one.

Hi K3 the 550 sprocket has a different bolting up method the 750 is fixed rigid where as the 550 is allowed to float, the sprocket slides onto the grooves of the drive shaft a spacer is then added and turns until the three bolts holes line up then tab washer and bolt up tight.Funny kind of set up never feel sure about it :o

But of course Dave there isn't an o ring behind there but there is an oil seal #29 which may be your problem?

Is the area thoroughly clean? If it is manked up it is quite difficult to spot where leaks are

Is the area thoroughly clean? If it is manked up it is quite difficult to spot where leaks are
When I had a leak in that area it needed years of chain lube cleaning off and then degreasing. My leak was from the joint between the two crankcase halves. Only happened when left on the side stand. Was fine on the main stand.

Clean as a whistle Kev :?
