may have a chance of two complete gt750a exhaust systems for £400 , not bad condition but usual rust on inners and a few dings (including the annoying dent on the end of an outer ) , but given the price of repairs and re chroming are these s/hand sets worth buying anymore ?

At that price, most probably. Lots of folks that still do standard for some reason.

I love the look of expansion chambers - its justthe noise can be a bit tiring after a while

well bought these , really nice left hand outer and two left hand inners , right hand outer has a small hole in the back (needs brazing) but fortunately hidden when on , other left hand outer is shabby but has had the baffle holder sorted out (for a rechrome) four spare baffles ,one brand new £200 the lot ! oh and no dents just a couple of minor dings and no rattles
