New project
Well - done it again - gone and bought another T500K this time in a rather fetching shade of pink! That will have to go - an import from Iowa across the pond and in quite tidy nick really - wants a few bits and pieces re- chroming and zinc plating and off we go but what is it with the Americans and tyres ? This has got a 425 × 19 on the front !!!

Re: New project
Try getting the front wheel off and on with that tyre on - its bad enough with the 325 × 19 on even after you deflate the tyre - never put a front wheel back on with a crowbar before lol - just a temporary re-fit though prior to a bit of a shakedown to see what she actually goes like -spent today getting the front brake to play, changing the gaitors and a quick clean up - plan is to get it on the road for this summer and then a full resto next winterslosher wrote:Nice Malky very nice indeed i actually like to see chunky tyres on these old fossils

Re: New project
I've always believed bikes should be black, but I do like the early colours used on the older bikes, pinks, purple, green, pastel blues, I'd be tempted to keep it original, keeps the value and I think it looks great(you could always get a second set in a colour of your choice)

Re: New project
Got her running a treat now after a carb strip and clean but something interesting is that the carb slides are solid brass and chrome plated -they weigh a fair bit more than the usual anodised ally ones , has anyone else seen these? It's also got the short carb bodies with the high top screw on tops which I've seen on some K models and J models - the bike is very original and doesnt seem to have been messed about with .
